Another end, and another beginning. Aquarius and the first half of Imbolc are over, and we approach the New Moon, the start of Pisces, and the start of the New Lunar New Year. As we pass through this portion of the Wheel, we pass through some very important fixed stars. This collection of stars always reminds me of the Martin Luther King, Jr. quote “the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.” But a loving reminder, dear Heathens, it does not bend by itself. Our deeds are the force that bends it, or not. This is a great star to contemplate the arc from our foolish youth, to our present state, to whatever we might become in the future. The Wheel of the Year continues to spin with Imbolc, also known as Candlemas in some traditions. Join my Patreon to get a 20 page workbook (link below) with a ton of info including astrology transits for 2026, journaling suggestions, ritual pieces, and more! This year's class is def more theory and theology, less customs and crafts. That said, every year different information comes forward to be discussed so I recommend watching previous years to learn more. This Greater Sabbat represents a light in the darkness of Winter. The lessons we can learn about perseverance and hope at this dark time can serve us throughout the coming year. And while we are still in the frozen grip of Winter, we are dreaming of what we could sprout in Spring. Falling on February 2nd, Imbolc is the halfway mark between Winter and Spring. Purification, honoring the dead, and reconnecting to natural resources are all sacred acts. Also at this Sabbat, many Witches will rededicate themselves to their path, or dedicate themselves to a new…

This Moon is going to bring into sharp focus the compromises we are forced to make to live in Western capitalist society. In what ways have you been required to sell your dreams or your ethics when it comes to survival and physical resources? This Moon is going to help us - with discomfort - to get clearer on what we want to build in this world and what compromises we are willing to make to manifest those dreams. This moon could also be a moment of defining exactly what we won’t compromise on, even if it means taking the harder road. Whoops! A lil late with this one, so much for organized and responsible! Mercury, Mars, Venus, and Pluto all snuggled up with the Moon and Sun this week. In the broadest context this is our feelings and our sense of self/purpose, feeling in alignment with the current zeitgeist, which is of course relative to our environment. This can embolden us if we are surrounded by a bunch of like minded folks. Further, we’re getting support from Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune, so it may feel like we have the approval of the Gods. This potent lineup will last for a few days past the New Moon, so utilize the time to consider the largest form of your blueprint for the coming year. The straightforward symbolism of the massive protests happening this weekend against the backdrop of the Waning Moon in Libra is profound. This Moon lights up the cardinal axis in a grand cross and all at once we might feel a need to be direct and purposeful in the world for our self, our partners, our family, and our collective, while simultaneously feeling over-committed and dissatisfied with past attempts at this work. Feel that discomfort. The ‘gift’ of the Waning Moon is to get square with what changes demand to be made, and deeper clarity about what cannot go forth. The Wheel turns, and The Wheel turns. Here we go again, for the first time! Our New Moon in Aquarius always kicks off a Lunar New year, but this year, it's also in alignment with Imbolc. This is a Sabbat and season of fog, dreams, abstraction, and breaking up the old forms to make way for the new. This work can be confusing, enlightening, and destabilizing. The New Moon in Aquarius is our yearly check in on our process of coming into alignment with our future, and the possibilities out in front of us. Goddesses like Brigid and Saraswati lend their skills and intellect to this work. The astrology of this week supports this work - in particular, sending a petition of hope out to the Universe - if we can only stay open to receiving the responses. In this episode we cover: the astrology and Lunar work of the week, accompanying Tarot, the Celtic Tree Month, the Runic Half Month, and tons more. The dark is here. The shift in the Sun's path is undeniable as the days shorten and the weather grows darker and colder. The Cross-Quarter holiday Samhain (pronounced "sow-wain") is possibly the most well-known of the Sabbats. Americans celebrate it as Hallowe'en. Samhain is the true tipping point into The Underworld Journey of Winter. Learn how to incorporate archetypes and symbols that can sometimes be dark and spooky into your life as healthy and balanced forms of working with The Shadow and to help you make the final shift away from the labor and celebrations of Autumn into the stillness and and rebirth of the coming Winter season. In this two hour lecture we will take a look at the superstitions and traditions surrounding Samhain, considering how people have used revelry, shape shifting, and pranks to deal with the oncoming chaos and breakdown of Winter - or to help bring it about. Immerse yourself in the ancient global rituals of this Cross Quarter festival acknowledging the death of the Sun and the…

Hello Heathens. Lets ground into the energy of Autumn, Mabon, and the work presented by the eclipse New Moon. As we call in the energy of the Vine and the Grape, we must consider the Seed and the Harvest. Celestial deities like Vindemiatrix and Porrima point to the labor and the oracular voices singing in the fields. The voices come from above and below, as we observe Ancestor feeding rituals. Witches are called to attend the Scales, and engage the action of balancing the Light and Dark as we step into the Underworld Journey. Witches! We are officially in the last 7 days of Gemini, Beltane, and Spring! The Waxing Half Moon is a Moon for adjustment and friction, both with an eye for progress and creation. The New Moon in Gemini is a time to engage authentic communication with the people around us. It’s a time to learn from our community, as well as be ready to share and teach our skills to others. Gemini covers the last four weeks of Spring and is focused on finishing up the work of Spring and changing into the shape(s) we need for Summer. On this New Moon think about: organized curiosity, versatile partnerships, learning experience based in pleasure, karma trips, the fun part of fucking around and finding out. Within the framework of Beltane, this is a powerful moment to seed projects of all kinds, start explorations, and invite in new social connections that would greatly benefit from Springtime and Beltane energies. This portion of the lunar process, and in particular this Pisces phase can be a tough moment. Or in particular how the illusions of the American Dream, Capitalism, The West, the Patriarchy or Hierarchy, the Piscean Era of martyr and victim have become exhausted. This week is a mixed bag of astrology. Helpful and stabilizing at the beginning, ominous and explosive as the week goes on. If you are feeling lost, ground into your values, and get real with yourself about where you need more education. Get real with yourself around whatever privileges you may have and how you can leverage them to help the collective. Our week also offers us an interesting collection of emotions: many Pagan holy days this week are about remembering our fallen Witches and other groups who have oppressed throughout time. But, we end the week with the onset of the Holy Week of Diwali - let us utilize this moment to light a candle and not simply curse the darkness. WITCH'S THANKSGIVING SECOND HARVEST The Wheel of the Year continues to turn for Pagans with the Quarter Sabbat MABON, also known as Fall Equinox. Also known as Second Harvest and Witch's Thanksgiving, at Mabon we continue to explore harvest season through the cornucopia of symbols and festivals found at this time of year. LUGHNASADH -THE FIRST HARVEST The Wheel of the Year continues to turn for Pagans with the great Cross-Quarter Sabbat Lughnasadh, also known as Lammas. Named for the Irish God Lugh, this holiday marks the 1/2 way point between Summer Solstice and Fall Equinox. Lugh is a Storm and Sun God with skills like crafting, fighting, musical artistry, and sorcery, and he wins the gift of agriculture for the Tuatha Dé Danann in battle. The holiday is also known as Lammas, which means loaf. Lammas Season comes to us at the hottest part of the year. It marked the beginning of the harvest season for ancient peoples in the Northern Hemisphere. But we can see this miracle of abundance in our modern world right now. Here in the Americas, the grain harvest has begun in the South and will continue up the continent until it arrives in Canada in mid-August. Green Corn Ceremony will be held by Indigenous tribes all over the country. For modern Witches and Pagans, this is a time to step into our power and begin harvesting and…

Witches! Just a shorty this week to cover our astrology as we will be discussing the holy days and other magicks of this week and season in the upcoming Lughnasadh class July 26 2023 6pm pst. We are still dancing (fighting? both?) with the Pluto/Nodal square and tensions may be running high. Remember, after the drama we have the drama hangover. Don't write checks your soul can't cash. My Good Heathens, Witches, and Pagans. The astrology of this week is wild af. This week is asking us to get supremely clear on our values, our relationship to responsibilities, and our relationship to Power and power structures. We may see some funky stuff go down in community, let's try our best not to fuel antagonistic dynamics that are bent on destruction and promoting negativity. This is a week where deities like Apollo, Perun, Mary Magdalene, and Kuan Yin are here to help us if we ask for help. If there ever was a week to not talk the talk but instead walk the walk, this is it. Witchcraft: getting clear on our motivations, Ancestor work, naked gardening Tarot: The Chariot

Hello Heathens. This week's astro is taking on a funky journey through memories and difficult stories from our past. How can you show up for yourself when it feel like the Universe is picking on you? How do we move when the poison and the medicine come from the same root? Mythic figures like Castor and Pollux remind us of the power of friendship, closeness, and sacrificing glory for love, for others and Self. Tarot: Four of Cups Witch's Work: Fire divination, chill times as we approach the New Moon.

Witches! Our first Full Moon of Summer is here! This is a very potent time for ethical harvesting and protection magicks. But at the deep heart of our Witch's Work this week is wrangling our connections to Power and Ancestors. Family. Baggage much? Yeah, it's true for everyone that family can bring up wonderful and funky stuff all at the same time. This is a week for utilizing our Passion and Courage as well as our Maturity and Vulnerability in facing the issues and narrative we may carry from Home. Tarot: The High Priestess Witch Work: Protection Magick, Wrangling Ancestors, Walking a Labyrinth

Our Islamic friends and relatives celebrate Hajj this week, the precursor to their New Year. Runic New Year also kicks off this week, and this year I encourage studying up on the Year of Aun, a Norse reconstructionist movement that is bringing back some great old traditions. Also this week we find ourselves partying with Ancient Egyptians during their amazing festival complex The Beautiful Reunion, dedicated to putting the material world (Ma'at) in order. This also leads up the New Years in the Ancient Egyptian world. New Sun, New Season, New energy! Did Spring feel sluggish? Start now! The Wheel turns, and there is always time to begin again. Tarot: 3 of Cups Witch Work: divination, renewing vows, political activism

LITHA - SUMMER SOLSTICE The Wheel of the Year continues to spin with the arrival of our next Sabbat, Litha, also known as Midsummer, or Summer Solstice. Litha celebrates the high point of the Sun's journey through the year. For folks in the Northern Hemisphere, we see this in long days filled with heat and light, and short nights, filled with heat and stars. And importantly for Witches and Pagans, the death of the Oak King, and the rise to power of the Holly King. Currently falling somewhere between June 18th and June 22nd each year, this Quarter Day marks the official end of Spring and start of Summer in the Northern Hemisphere. What is it to work through the energy of Gemini, The Divine Twins and Cancer, the Universal Womb? We’ll come into alignment with these archetypes by studying the astronomy and the astrology of the times. And we will welcome the Sun into our lives by embracing our ability to radiate our personal power. Immerse yourself in the ancient global folklore, symbols, and rituals of this…

This week contains our last Waning Half Moon and last Balsamic Moon of Gemini, Beltane, and Spring. BELTANE - MAY DAY / WITCH’S NIGHT - Wheel of the Year Series 2023 Spellbound The 2023 Wheel of the Year Cycle continues with Beltane, also known as May Day or Walpurgisnacht in some traditions. For many Pagans, this marks the return of The Green Man – a lusty and puckish side of The God. This Cross-Quarter Day is a popular Fire Festival ushering in the deep heart of Spring, and for some places, Summer. Falling on April 30th/May 1st each year, the date of Beltane marks the halfway point of the Spring season in the Northern Hemisphere. Lusty, mischievous, and playful, the spirit of Beltane is light-hearted but serious about fun. Marked by massive bonfires, maypoles and "greenwood marriages" that only lasted a year and a day (or one long lovely night), Beltane is a holiday focused on celebrating the fecundity and power in the exchange of energy and passion between humans. But the work isn't done after one night! We'll take a look at what we can expect for the coming 6-8 weeks of each season, learn how you can…
